For me I don't buy them but play things like NHL moments live instead.
i just play games they give you a good amount after the game usually 600-700 pucks
Grinding out games is usually best for HUT. Here's been my thing so far...
I opened up 10 starting user packs and saved all the contracts and ended up getting around 100
I play my bronze players and non tradable low-end gold cards against the computer so when they run out of a contract, I can just replace them with someone else cheap. I'll just buy a bronze card for about 100 coins as long as they have like 10 or more games on their contract already.
Then I also have a separate lineup for playing online which has my best players where I actually compete.
This is how I'm making coins. It's good cause I have the contracts and don't have to waste pucks to buy them.
Games, games, and more games. I have played a few games against computers and it is probably more efficient than playing against real players.
The opening of packs never seemed to work for me. If I would get a player that's valuable (which is rarely) I would've spent more coins to pull him than he sells for.
I'm a big fan of the bronze pack method where you sell off everything from a bronze mini pack. It can be tedious, but if you have spare time, you'll come out of it with a hefty profit.
I still need to build up my coins before I start playing which for me is just the daily rewards, it seems slow and painful but I don't want to get slaughtered with all my bronze players!
just play and play and open packs
