This will arguably be the biggest trade for maybe next year as well.

The Chicago White Sox traded ace southpaw Chris Sale to the Boston Red Sox!

Headed back to Chicago are prospects INF/OF Yoan Moncada, RH Michael Kopech, RH Victor Diaz, and OF Luis Basabe.

Sale, 27, going into his age 28 season, has a career ERA of 3.00 with the White Sox. In 148 starts with the White Sox he's 74-50, a 10.9 K/9, a 1.065 WHIP, 135 ERA+. Sale is also under contract through 2017 making $12 million. He also has options for 2018 and 2019 for $12.5 mil and $13.5 mil.

He joins a great pitching staff with AL CY winner Rick Porcello and David Price.

Moncada, 21, struggled in the majors this year but he'll likely be able to settle into his natural position of 2B in Chicago so we might see a turn around.

Kopech, 20, was the 33rd overall pick in 2014 and was a consensus top 100 overall prospect last year. He's one of the hardest throwers in baseball clocked at 105 mph. Across 3 minor league seasons he has a 2.61 ERA with 172 Ks over 134.2 innings.

Diaz, 22, hasn't pitched over the Sally league in his career but registered a 3.00 ERA with decent K numbers and 58 career relief appearances.

Basabe, 20, owns a slash line of .253/.353/.408 with 73 SB in 298 minor league games. Last year he reached high single A Carolina League. He was regarded as one of the top 10 best prospects in the Red Sox system last year.

Don't be so quick to think that Blue Jays still have some lefty mashers, and the off season ain't over.

Blue Jays gonna have a tough time next year after that acquisition by the Red Sox. They've good rotation with Porcello, Price and now Sale. I mean if we get Moreland him and Morales combined is equal the value of EE. Hopefully we just give up on Moreland and somehow sign EE to a deal.

Moreland is not worth it. Not to mention we have three 1B/DH types Pearce (The analytical darling), Smoak (Elite defensively) , and Morales (Mainly DH). Our money should be allocated towards the outfield/bullpen.

Now if Shatkins can convince Edwin to come back for cheaper and convince Pearce to play the corners but this scenario is unlikely.

It was just a bad decision to low ball AA an offer to resign with the team as GM. I mean he did make stupid decisions like giving Halladay away when he had one good season in him for a bust like Kyle Drabek.

We got Drabek (Busted out), D'arnaud (The main piece in the R.A Dickey trade) and Michael Taylor (wait for it)

The next day Michael Taylor was flipped to Oakland for Brett Wallace (At the time he was supposed to be the future first baseman). 7 months later Wallace was dealt to Houston for speedy outfielder Anthony Gose. But of course Gose couldn't hit a beach ball but he could run as fast as the windbso the Tigers gave us Devon Travis for him.

So I mean it worked out alright.

Yeah but a CY Young award winner for Devon Travis is a lopesided trade.

Well I mean the Jays are better than they've been in 20 years so would you rather have Travis now or Halladay then?

Halladay then, but I don't know if Sanchez would be around if Halladay was around.

their numbers combined together will still hurt the Jays if you compare them to EE. 2x doesn't mean they can replace him. because only one can play at a time really

I'm not expecting EE to replicate the year he had. Morales can replace most of his production for a fraction of the cost this leaves us with money to possibly get Dexter Fowler or other help.

if you think that morales can replace even a fraction of what EE could even considering both players projected drops due to age. In terms of Power while yes Morales hits Lefties well in terms of power 19 to 11 from left to right, he also only hit .231 against lefties while he hit .330 against righties, .05053 HR/AB to .06044 HR/AB from left to right again. Morales also struggled to get on base against lefties with an OBP of only .307 while EE had a .385 against lefties.

not to mention that EE had a HR/AB of .075 from lefties and a .06861 HR/AB against righties.

    They aren't though haha.

Boston and its fans allegedly hate the Yankees and the city of New York, yet copy them at every turn.

They won it in 2013. The Yankees won championships with that format you'd be crazy to not copy it.
