Welcome to my NBA 2K16 GM Mode. My goal is to build another Lakers dynasty as the end of Kobe's career comes closer. We need to develop Russell and Randle correctly; they are the future of the Lakers. Entering the GM Mode, this is the owners' demands and goals.

    OWNERS DEMANDS:
    • Win at least 20 road games this season - FAILED
    • Get a good draft pick (LA forfeited their 1st round pick to the Sixers as part of the Steve Nash trade) - COMPLETE
    • Have no more than 39 losses this season - FAILED
    • D'Angelo Russell needs to play at least 26 minutes per game this season - COMPLETE
    OWNERS WISHLIST:
    • Finish Top 10 in Attendance this season - FAILED
These are the goals for this season. Its gonna be hard to win 20 road games and have no more than 39 losses this season due to the mediocre play of the Lakers. We are currently in a rebuild... This is not a time to make the playoffs. My next post will include our roster and our starting lineups heading into the first game of the season.

Feel free to give me any advice along the way. I'm hoping that you guys will help me make my decisions in the future to rebuild the Lakers and build another dynasty.

Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Los Angeles Lakers
Game #1 - Towns vs. Russell

    1st Quarter:
After the first quarter, the Los Angeles have a 29-25 lead over the Timberwolves. Clarkson, Russell, and Nance, Jr. all have 5 points each, and Russell leads the team with 3 assists. Wiggins has 6 points for Minnesota along with 2 rebounds and 2 assists.

    2nd Quarter:
The Lakers jump out ahead this quarter, entering the locker room with a 61-49 lead. Kobe leads the Lakers with 14 points, while D'Angelo Russell leads with 4 assists. Larry Nance, Jr. is having an impressing debut with 7 points and 7 rebounds. As for the Wolves, Muhammed and Rubio are tied with 9 points, while Karl-Anthony Towns has had a rather quiet debut with only 2 points, 0 rebounds, and only taking 1 shot so far in the game, in which he made.

    3rd Quarter:
The Lakers had a tough third quarter. Everyone on the team went ice cold and couldn't make any shots. Turnovers, missed opportunities, and sloppiness all held a factor in the Lakers blowing the 12 point lead. The score is 78-77.

    4th Quarter:
The Lakers come back late and win by 5 points!!

    FINAL SCORE:
    Minnesota 100, LA Lakers 105

    NOTABLE PLAYER STATS:
    Minnesota Timberwolves
    Shabazz Muhammed: 23 points, 6 rebounds, 9-17
    Andrew Wiggins: 16 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 7-27
    Karl-Anthony Towns: 14 points, 4 rebounds, 6-8
    Zach LaVine: 11 points, 5-8
    Ricky Rubio: 9 points, 3 rebounds, 13 assists, 3-8

    Los Angeles Lakers
    Jordan Clarkson: 21 points, 9-15
    Julius Randle: 17 points, 10 rebounds, 2 steals, 2 blocks, 6-11
    D'Angelo Russell: 16 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists, 7 turnovers, 7-15
    Kobe Bryant: 14 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists, 4-16
    Roy Hibbert: 12 points, 13 rebounds, 5-6

    PLAYER OF THE GAME:
D'Angelo Russell was the player of the game finishing with a complete stat line in his first career NBA game. He had 16 points with 7 assists and also 6 rebounds, helping the Lakers get their first win of the season. Two things he has to improve on is turnovers (7) and foul shooting (1-4 from the line in the last moments of the game
    ).

Following our first victory of the season, there were multiple errors that WE HAVE to address. Our team has to be better at keeping the ball. We had way to many turnovers today (total of 12 combined between Russell and Randle), which almost cost us the game. Another thing is free throw shooting. Russell and Randle were 6-12 combined, plus Roy Hibbert was 3-6. This also almost cost us the game. Finally, sloppiness is a big issue. Some plays we just don't know who to give the ball to. It's just the players passing it back and forth to each other, then either Kobe or Clarkson throwing up a shot with 2 seconds left on the shot clock. Any thoughts?

    POST-GAME INTERVIEWS:
    GM (me)
Q: What are your goals for the Lakers in the future?
A: We need to consistently improve, season by season. This team will need to rebuild, so if we keep getting better and better each season, that's a good sign for Lakers fans.

    Kobe Bryant
Q: Congrats on your first win. How does it feel to get that off of your chest?
A: It's a great feeling. Whenever you always get a first win, especially in your first game, it gives you a great feeling... a feeling of momentum and excitement carrying into the next game.

    Julius Randle
Q: This was your first game since you broke your leg in your first career game last season. How does it feel to get back on the court?
A: Amazing. I'm happy to help with Kobe and the Lakers. I'm hoping the injuries can stop so I can play with the Lakers and help them get some victories.

    D'Angelo Russell
Q: You were impressive in your first game, awarded the Jordan Brand Player of the Game Award. But a problem you had was turnovers. How are you gonna fix that for next game?
A: I have to practice and be more careful. There were way to many turnovers tonight. I just have to keep practicing, watch the film, and hopefully the turnovers will stop.

    Byron Scott
Q: How did Russell look on the court in his first game?
A: He looked good. He's gonna have to do better, though.
Q: Can you explain more on what he has to do?
    A: No.

    Noice, noice.

This has a lot of depth, I like it Samuel F.

Nice to see another basketball gm going on and it'll be fun to see how you deal with those tricky situations. I think the Lakers have a pretty clear road path that wasn't really clear a couple years ago.
    Kobe will be retiring.
Jackson, Russell, Clarkson. Keep 'em all.
Build up from that and contend for a Championship. Winning it depends on what you do to change the team. Plus you're going to get another good player with this years pick.
Owner expectations are a bit bizarre.

Don't know much about the Lakers but I guess I can give you feedback on how to build this team.

Hopefully you don't get fired and build back the dynasty that used to be in L.A.!

And btw, KOBE pass the DAMN ball :lol

After the first quarter, the Lakers have a 35-25 lead. Turnovers are a big factor why the Lakers don't have a bigger lead.

    Third Quarter:
The Lakers have gone cold, especially D'Angelo Russell. The Lakers are losing by 8 with one quarter left to go. Russell has 6 turnovers and is shooting 6-19.

    Fourth Quarter:
The Lakers walk out with a close victory. The final score is 126-121.

    FINAL SCORE:
Los Angeles Lakers 126, New York Knicks 121

    NOTABLE PLAYER STATS:
    Los Angeles Lakers

    Roy Hibbert - 11 points, 17 rebounds, 3 blocks

    New York Knicks
    Carmelo Anthony - 27 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists, 11-24

    Kyle O'Quinn - 18 points, 5 rebounds, 4 steals, 8-14
    Langston Galloway - 11 points, 4 assists, 4 steals

    PLAYER OF THE GAME
D'Angelo Russell and Julius Randle are both key factors in helping the Lakers get their third win of the season. Both players combined for 46 points, 15 rebounds, and 20 assists. Both deserve the honors to win Jordan Brand Player of the Game.

If I'm not mistaken the Lakers pick is top 2 protected. Are you using the default rosters? and do you have force trade on? Not to be overpowered and get Lebron for a 2nd but to fix the small things like draft orders and stuff?

thats why if you had force trade on, you could have all of the teams trade you their picks so you can redistribute to the correct teams.

I was thinking that maybe we can package Lou Williams, Nick Young, and Brandon Bass/Ryan Kelly for a top 10 pick (doesn't have to be top 3, i'm ok with a top 10). But I was thinking about that for later in the season.
