It would be easier for you to tank, trade hammond to a playoff team or a team just outside the playoffs for a 1st round pick and trade clarke for a either a draft pick of a young prospect. You guys will get better over the off season and with a good draft and more money and signings from gree agency the sens will be right back in the playoff hunt for next season. I think a minor half season rebuild is just what the sens need right now

First you need to trade MacArthur and Hammond for a solid first line LW or an elite goaltender immediately. If their trade values are too low consider just dumping either MacArthur or Hammond (not both) for picks. Don't rebuild, just trade some pieces away and hope to get a good draft pick and some key players in free agency. Consider getting players like Alex Steen, Patrick Sharp, James Neal, Corey Schneider, or Ben Bishop. Also, you need to play Chaisson a little bit more because he still can grow a few overall points of you give him time. One last thing would be is to keep your first and second round picks for this year so you get more prospect depth which you are lacking. If you consider these suggestions, you should make the playoffs and anything can happen in the playoffs.

Maybe a top 10 but you need to make a trade for that important first line left wing vanek or moulson wild or sabers

If you really don't want to trade for that second or first line winger than maybe a top 4 defensemen around 86 overall??? Just trying to throw out another suggestion but I do think a second line right wing to play with Hoffman and Zibby could work out and you can keep Stone on the first line. this will help your goals for and it could potentially help Hoffman grow because at the moment he isn't getting much better.

I've said this before, but I'll say it all again.

Mine is of the minority opinion according to the poll, but I'll be blunt. Your team is not a Stanly Cup contender right now. You are a first or second round team at your peak, and your indecision about what team you have (playoff vs Cup winner vs rebuild) is costing you long term.

This clamor for a top 6 winger of the right now is not what you need. Your greatest asset is your superstar stud 91 overall defenseman. And you are not emphasizing your strength, but instead saddling it with a subpar partner he has to carry. Whoever is on the line with Ryan and Karlson is going to be inflated in value simply due to the fact they are carried by them.

You do need to trade, but for a future top 2 defenseman that will become a catalyst, not a burden for Karlson in 1-2 years, and a winger that will pair with Ryan similarly in same time frame. Then, you need to play them hard in high minutes positions to cultivate them into that. Further, you need to adapt your farm system in this time frame, and sacrifice a few wins to allow your high potential prospects to develop by playing high minutes in the NHL.

Same with your goalies. Grow your potential MVP goal tender by letting him hog all the ice time and unload your fully developed one to clear the way for this.

Wanting it all, right now, with no foundation to stand upon is going to tank you. Set up for a year or two later with the actual ability to go for the Cup, not just round 2.

The team has quality throughout and is set up as soundly as it possibly can be barring two key areas.
    1. No genuine scoring threat to compliment Bobby Ryan
    2. No Elite goaltender.
Others may argue that you need another defender to partner Karlsson, I would disagree with that though, Ceci in my eyes has earned that Top 2 time with his play this year, whilst Righty-Righty might not be ideal, his production outweighs that, by giving him the first line time as a 85 rated Top 4 guy you give him the best chance at becoming a 86/87 perhaps even 88 by next year.

The goaltender issue isn't too big of a deal seeing as you are growing one for the future in Lehner, give him the ice time and let him grow, he is out performing Hammond so not only does he deserve it through his play, it also makes most sense for you in the short and long term - no brainer.

Lack of scoring will see you crash out though, a trade containing MacArthur and others would make the most sense, I understand your trepidation in doing so because you don't want to bet the farm and crap out, BUT, if you can make the trade without giving out draft picks then not only can you improve for next year with the trade, but also keep the pieces in play to carry on improving your prospect pool.

In short, make the trade for a genuine goalscorer but don't include any draft picks. Exercise caution.

Whats the point in asking the fans?
You don't do what they want in the first place. We can vote all day, but you still go with what you want to do

One thing is crystal clear, something significant must be made. These small line changes may work in real life, but for sim engine it doesn't mean a shit if there is Hoffman or Stone on the first line instead of MacArthur. So either improve your 1st line by trading new forward to it, or go with retool and fix your major problem in your prospect pool which is lack of true first line talent (4,5 star prospects). Doing nothing just ensure that your team is and will be mediocore.

Keep the roster together. If you miss the playoffs then so be it. The "pesky Sens" identity is to never give up and always be in your face until the very end. If things don't work out then make a move in the offseason (like trading C. MacArthur, which you should've done last offseason but whatever)

You need to get a point per game player, or close to it. Everyone keeps saying you need a player to compliment Ryan, but it's the other way around. You need a player for Ryan to compliment.

you need a playoff performer thats tough and rugged to defend your team in the top six. We just watched the team get killed out there. i Suggest finding a enforcer especially if you ended up making a trade for some softy sniper in the top six

I think the writing is on the wall for Macarthur, trade for Johnny Gaudreu, he's a beast in gm mode, trade MacArthur and a 2nd from next year and a 3rd from next year for Gaudreu

If Mac is worth keeping, he should've been able to hold down the fort, with all the injuries.
